Etsy Shop: The MaKu Collection

What will I find in your shop?I LOVE to create. In my shop you’ll find jewelry made with very different mediums; from classical gemstones necklaces to pendants that are made with digital graphics and resin. Other than jewelry for ladies, I also make cute necklaces for little girls.

How did you come about opening your shop?I’ve been a stay at home mom for over 8 years. After my youngest one turned 5 last year, I started to think about going back to work. I wasn’t ready to go back full time since my kids are still young and it would be too stressful to try to balance mommy duties, house duties, and work duties at the same time. I was in the Information Technology field for a long time. When my little girl was around 2, I started to do a lot of arts and crafts projects with her. That probably sparked the creative side of me. I started making jewelry in the spring of 2010 and I got a lot of compliments from my family and friends. Making jewelry became my addiction since then. In the fall of 2010, I opened up an online store, The MaKu Collection,www.makucollection.com, selling my jewelry and also some hair accessories. I like to help people so I decided to contribute a portion of the profit to schools and non-profit organizations.

I discovered Etsy while I was searching for supplies online one day and it instantly became my favorite place to visit. I loved it so much that I decided to open my own Etsy shop.

What is your favorite item in your shop?I love everything I’ve listed in the shop. If I have to choose one item, it will be the Glass Bead and Gemstone Necklace made with Lampwork Bead, Amethyst Rounds, and Swarovski Crystal Pearls.

What is your favorite Etsy Shop? There’re so many nice shops on Esty it is very hard to pick a favorite one. I probably have a dozen in mind. Since I love beads so much, I’m going to pick beadandribbon today. Their Picasso Czech beads are absolutely beautiful.

  2. I love your style so crisp, clear, classic, I see that you are on the East Coast, but something about your style is undefinably West Coast.
