Cute, custom creations for your little ones!
How did you come about opening your shop?
I love dressing up my little girl (she is featured in most of our pictures), especially for holidays!!
Last Thanksgiving I searched high and low for the perfect outfit but I couldn’t manage to find anything within my price range. The department stores don’t carry unique items and the specialty boutiques often charge an arm and a leg for an outfit she will likely only wear once. I asked my husband for an early Christmas present - my very own sewing machine. I used my mom’s when I had lived at home, but after I got married and moved out of the house, I needed my own. I wanted to work on my “new idea” for the perfect Thanksgiving outfit - after my daughter went to bed. I ended up making a turkey shirt for my daughter and about 4 other little girls too (other friends, and moms, who LOVED my “new idea” and wanted it for their little girls). Since then I have made many other cute shirts, dresses and skirts for my daughter and various other family/friends.
My sister was the one who came up with the idea to open up an Etsy shop. She isn’t as creative, but has awesome marketing, sales, and general business skills. She has done a great job at getting our name out there! Together we make a great team! Our goal is to provide unique items at an affordable price!
What’s up next for us?
My sister constantly points out that I won’t leave the house unless my little girl has a hair bow! I always smile when she says it because I know it couldn’t be more accurate of a statement! I am a true girly girl – I love pink, bows, ribbon, and anything that sparkles! So be on the lookout for bows to be added to our collection of custom creations!!
What is your favorite item in your shop?
My favorite item right now is the Easter Bunny dress and matching hair bow! I think it is perfect for little girls to show off their holiday spirit and great for mom’s because it can be used all spring. It is also probably the best item in our shop that represents “me” – silver sparkling eyes, all pink, complete with a hair bow for both the bunny and the little girl wearing the dress.
What is your favorite Etsy Shop?
My favorite Etsy Shop would have to be Savor. I read about it in the Etsy blog, “Quit your day job”. I, like this shop owner, have a little girl and hate being away from her for so long. Her story is an inspiration to us! I would love to one day be able to work along side my sister all day long.
