Etsy Shop: The 2 Sisters Shoppe
What will I find in your shop?
We make a variety of things. We have glass & crystal beaded jewelry, kindle cases/sleeves, passport holders, t-shirts, stuffed animals, etc. Both of us have unique tastes and talents, therefore we make a wide range of things. If we want something and can make it for ourselves, we will, and we will probably start making it for the shop.
How did your shop start?
In December 2010 I (Amanda) made a crocheted felted purse for a coworker as a secret santa gift. She kept telling me everyone asked where she got it, so I should start selling them. Then me and my sister (Honey) received kindles from our mom for christmas. The kindle covers online were boring and some of them really expensive. I crocheted and felted each of us a case, and again was told to start selling them. When searching the internet for kindle cases, I had stumbled upon Etsy, so after I made ours we decided to open up a shop. Honey makes the jewelry and I make most of the other items.
What is your favorite item?
Honey's favorite item is www.etsy.com/listing/70192595/purple-swarovski-tier-necklace She recently started branching out in her jewelry and making more intricate pieces. She really loves how this one turned out. One of mine is this www.etsy.com/listing/67745548/punch-you-in-the-face-purple-petal-color shirt. The design was drawn by our brother Vincent and I screen printed it onto the shirt. I think it is fun and full of attitude just like me.
What is your favorite shop?
It is so hard to choose cause there are so many amazing artists and designers on Etsy. If I have to choose one it would probably have to be Darkcycleclothing. I like this shop because they started out small and have built their business into something amazing. Their designs are fun and funky. They are what we aspire to be.

Etsy Shop: Sol9 Designs
What will I find in your shop?At this moment you'll find a collection of accessories made from yarn and other fiber materials in a variety of colors. Everything is handmade with a lot of love and a good story. Stay tuned for the addition of clothing to my collection in the coming months.
How did you come about opening your shop?I finally stopped being a chicken and opened it! I have always had a love for fashion and crafting and have dabbled in the art since I was a little kid, venturing out into designing prom dresses and eventually had my clothing featured in a fashion show. I received a lot of positive feedback and was urged to become a seller. I put this off, out of fear for a long time. But at the beginning of this year, as a part of my quest to eliminate self-inflicted limitations, I decided to open this shop as well as my other shop, www.etsy.com/shop/OBBSTORE
What is your favorite item in your shop?It has to be the Spunky Triband Belt. It's one of the first items I put on Etsy and represents the journey taken to get to where I am today. www.etsy.com/listing/65712656/spunky-triband-belt
What is your favorite Etsy Shop? What? You mean besides my own? Just kidding. I'm impressed by www.etsy.com/shop/skymagenta and would like to get my hands on some yarn from www.etsy.com/shop/MikesTShirtYarn.

Etsy Shop: SQResources
What will you find in my shop? The Etsian shopper will find a variety of quilted wall hangings and hand knit scarves, cowls and collars. My work is inspired by the colors and textures of Southeast Asia so I include materials in my quilting and knitting that reflect the images I’ve captured in my travels to that part of the world. There are also a number of handmade items that I am selling in my shop to support my favorite charity. The bags and head bands have been made by young women in Viet Nam who are learning to sew as part of life skills training provided by Friends For Street Children in Ho Chi Minh City. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of those items goes to FFSC to support their sewing program.
How did you come about opening your shop?I was finding that the pieces that I quilted or knit were done in colors that didn’t always have a recipient in my extended network of family and friends. I was playing with fibers and fabrics to get my color and texture “fix” but not finishing projects as they didn’t have a home. Opening the shop gave me the motivation to finish projects and explore new ideas. Selling my work has also allowed me to support other fiber artists in their endeavors as many of my knit items are from yarns I have found in my favorite Etsy shops.
What is your favorite item in your shop?My favorites are usually the pieces that I am currently working on and not listed yet in the shop. There are about nine scarves in various stages of progress on needles right now. When a new yarn arrives, I just have to play with it to see what it will turn into so lots of items should be posted in the next several weeks. Of the items actually for sale now, I love the bamboo scarf in golds and bronzes and the Squares within Squares quilt.
What is your favorite Etsy shop? That’s a hard question since I have found so many favorites as you would see when you check out my shop. Most of my favorites now are either fiber artists who are spinning or dyeing yarns but there are also several that I favorite for their color inspiration. Of all the ones on my list, I would have to narrow it down to allforloveofyarn, kittygrrlz, and yarntopiatreasures. They color my world for me.

Etsy Shop: My Craft Loft
What will I find in your shop?I am very addicted to Kanzashi and cannot stop making them. You will find Kanzashi and other fabric accessories for all ages and styles in my shop. All the items that you see here are made by me during evenings and weekends while I am not at work.
I love working with fabrics. I browse around local fabric stores for no reason. Different color pallets and feel of different textures is a very therapeutic process for me. I also love working with different color combinations. Depending on how I evolve in the future, I will be adding different items into my shop.
Here is a wiki link for Kanzashi, just in case you are curious. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanzashi
How did you come about opening your shop?As much as I love the science and my job (I am a blood banker). I needed to break away from my analytical world and enter into creative world. In my free time, I have always been feeding my creative addiction with a wide variety of projects from sketching fashion illustrations to making my own jewelries and home décor items.
I picked up a book called “Kanzashi in Bloom” and instantly fell in love with that. I have been researching and trying to incorporate that method into my own vision ever since. I cannot stop making them. When I combine my fabric shopping habit to my Kanzashi addiction, I ended up with a living room full of stuff. My poor roommate who is running out of space found out about Etsy from her coworker. I finally decided to take a toll on photography so that I can open my own Etsy shop.
I love every aspect of having my own shop, from showcasing my work to connecting with fellow crafters. Even though I have a hard time promoting my store, I learned so much from this whole experience and met a lot of great fellow Estians during the process.
What is your favorite item in your shop?My favorite item has always changes since I am always experimenting with different materials and methods. For now, my favorite is Eggplant hair clip. Deep purple is my favorite color and I also had a lot of fun trying to figure out a perfect angle for the picture.
What is your favorite Etsy Shop?It is very hard pick a favorite store since there are so many great stores in Etsy. One of the stores that I really really love though is CleanerScience. The concept that you are using bacteria to clean yourself is very amusing. Besides, it reminds me of my Microbiology days when I was a student. Good times!!

Etsy Shop: Sophie Snaps
What will I find in your shop?
I make hair clips, hats, and clip holders for little girls. Each item is one of a kind. I make the clips from fabric yoyos, buttons, felt appliques, ribbon, and beads.
How did you come about opening your shop?
I began by making hair clips for my baby when I realized how much I had been spending on buying clips for her! Soon I realized she had way too many to ever wear, and friends began asking me about buying them. SophieSnaps evolved from there.
What is your favorite item in your shop?
The yoyo clips in general - they are so versatile and fun to work with. I have always loved this one in particular www.etsy.com/listing/65685445/dotty-hair-clip
What is your favorite Etsy Shop?
Do I have to chose just one??! I love MarasFabric for fabric squares to make yoyos. I adore TheTessyTree's necklaces - I just ordered one for my older daughter's birthday! The baby items in VicariousClothing crack me up! And ClaudineMJ is incredibly talented.
